Five Minute Friday: Worship

Ok guys...

So apparently I suck at blogging.  You can't say I didn't warn you this would happen.

I think the reason I've been non blogging is that I have too many ideas running around in my head and heart.

I've got six... yes six, partial blogs that I'm currently working on.

In case you've never met me, I'm a perfectionist.

As in ridiculous, to a fault perfection.

It's horrible.

Because of this fault of mine, it takes me forever to do something.  If I post a blog, it has to be perfect.

At least MY version of perfect.

My mind is overwhelmed with the task so instead I post nothing.

Very logical, I am.

Since I can't come up with material on my own, I found this idea called "Five Minute Friday".  All you bloggers or non bloggers should totally check it out and join in on the fun.

Premise:  You get a prompt and you write about that prompt for...
you guessed it... five minutes.

No editing, backtracking, or time extending.  No pressure to be perfect.
Just write.
Anything.
Everything.
Life.

Anyway, hopefully I can keep up with this Five Minute Friday thing.  It's totally doable and my brain doesn't want to explode when I think about it.  That's a win-win in my book :)

-------Five Minute Friday: Worship---------

Worship.

“Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.  For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have ever lasting life.”

If you’ve ever been to our church, chances are you’ve recited this.  These are the two verses that our whole church recites anytime someone comes to profess their belief in Jesus. 

It is so easy to just say it.  

We all know it.  

We all say it all of the time.  

HOW do we miss the beauty in these verses?  How does it become so routine?

A miracle… 

an “all of heaven is rejoicing” miracle 

has happened in someone’s life and all we do is recite these verses half heartedly and MAYBE say amen at the end. 

Where is the celebration?  Where is the excitement over a life that has been eternally changed?

I ask you, has the Lord placed an excitement in you for sinners who repent?  Are you spiritually moved when someone is brought out of the darkness into the MARVELOUS light?  

Let us join together in celebrating the newness that we have in Jesus.  Let us worship!  Let us rejoice!  Not silently in the pews, but boldly proclaiming His goodness.

It’s gotta start with me.
